Problem Summary
Many high school visual arts and multimedia students have limited access to working artists and creative professionals, making it harder for them to see real career pathways, understand creative processes, and recognize the opportunities available within the creative industries.
Primary Goal
To bridge the gap between classroom art education and the real creative industry by introducing students to working artists while engaging them in mini creative projects inspired by each artist's practice.

Mission Statement
The Working Artist Podcast connects high school visual arts and multimedia students with working artists through interviews that explore creative careers, artistic processes, and real-world experiences. Each episode is paired with a short curriculum and student mini-project designed to help students immediately apply ideas, techniques, and mindsets shared by the guest artist. By combining storytelling, professional insight, and hands-on creative exploration, the program helps students better understand how creative skills translate into real careers.
Teaching Philosophy
My teaching is grounded in the belief that students learn best through real experiences, meaningful connections, and creative exploration. The Working Artist Podcast is built on constructivist and experiential learning, where students develop understanding through observation, dialogue, and hands-on creation. By engaging with working artists and applying those insights in their own work, students begin to see themselves as part of the creative world.
